Class Support Substitute - Rural Uvalde, Brackettville, Sabinal, Campwood

The Classroom Support Substitute works in collaboration with center staff to greet parents, assist the Head Start Teacher in delivering the classroom curriculum in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, licensing minimum standards, and agency guidelines. They are responsible for caring for and supervising children, ensuring services align with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma‑informed care lens, maintaining safety and a positive experience for the children, and serving as a positive role model. The Substitute maintains supervision of children within Head Start Program ratios at all times and moves from classroom to classroom or center to center as needed. This is a year‑round position.

Education

High School or better.

Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of the Family Service Smart Start for Teacher’s ANGELS Substitute Program.
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
