Unitex is seeking a Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to join our maintenance team in Mount Vernon, NY. This role focuses on preventive maintenance of industrial laundry equipment, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and press machines, to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and work with the team to resolve them promptly.
• Assist in repairing or replacing faulty components, parts, or systems as needed.
• Follow maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Document maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory updates.

Unitex is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to join our manufacturing team in Mount Vernon, NY (155).

Compensation:$27.00/hr to $32.00/hr. The salary range for this position is $27.00/hour to $32.00/hour. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors.

Schedule: To be discussed during screening prior to interview, based on seniority per Union Contract. Monday through Friday, 1:00PM - 9:30PM or 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Overtime on Saturday may be required

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a relevant field is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician or a similar role in an industrial setting, preferably in the laundry industry.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to industrial equipment.
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques for laundry equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams related to industrial laundry equipment.
• Familiarity with safety practices and protocols in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Solid attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work independently while following instructions and guidelines.
