Unitex Healthcare Laundry Services, Inc. in Mount Vernon, NY is hiring a Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to maintain industrial laundry equipment, diagnose issues, and work as part of a skilled team. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and will follow union-contract schedules.

Starting pay ranges from $27.00 to $32.00 per hour, with overtime possible on Saturdays. Training on equipment is provided, and opportunities exist for advancement within our 100-year-old, stable company.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues in a team setting.
• Familiarity with safety practices and maintaining maintenance records.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine maintenance on washers, dryers, and press machines to prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with the team.
• Repair or replace faulty components as needed to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and document maintenance actions.
• Maintain work orders, repairs, and inventory updates.

Unitex is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to join our manufacturing team in Mount Vernon, NY (155).

Compensation: $27.00/hr to $32.00/hr. The salary range for this position is $27.00/hour to $32.00/hour. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors.

Schedule: To be discussed during screening prior to interview, based on seniority per Union Contract. Monday through Friday, 1:00PM - 9:30PM or 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Overtime on Saturday may be required

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and press machines, to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and work with the team to resolve them promptly.
• Assist in repairing or replacing faulty components, parts, or systems as needed.
• Follow maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Document maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory updates.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a relevant field is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Class B Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician or a similar role in an industrial setting, preferably in the laundry industry.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to industrial equipment.
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques for laundry equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams related to industrial laundry equipment.
• Familiarity with safety practices and protocols in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Solid attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work independently while following instructions and guidelines.
