OPICI Family Distributing, a family-owned business in wine and spirits for over 100 years, is currently seeking a Class B Driver to join our growing Company and our Operations Team. Position Summary

The Driver will safely, efficiently, and accurately deliver products daily to customers on the assigned route. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe work environment. This role involves route driving and delivery in the Metro New York and North New Jersey area, typically on a 4x10 Tuesday – Friday shift, but may include a 5x8 Monday – Friday shift depending on union bids and seniority. Additional days/hours may be required during high volume periods.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Inspect the delivery vehicle for readiness, including tires, mirrors, fluid levels, and cleanliness.
2. Adhere to all safety and protocol guidelines, delivering products safely, efficiently, and accurately. Complete the route before returning to the warehouse.
3. Use delivery applications during routes.
4. Operate the delivery vehicle safely, following all traffic laws. Safety levels will be monitored via Samsara telematics.
5. Handle refused, damaged goods, or customer pickups appropriately.
6. Complete daily paperwork accurately and neatly.
7. Secure the vehicle and materials at the end of the workday.
8. Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other regulations.
9. Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers, working as a team.
10. Follow quality standards, procedures, rules, and policies.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma, GED, or related experience.
2. Valid Class B License with a clean driving record.
3. At least 2 years of CDL experience and a valid DOT medical card.
4. Ability to use a hand truck for basement deliveries.
5. Ability to lift, push, pull 40 pounds and reach, bend without difficulty.
6. Knowledge of NY/NJ metro areas.
7. Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting rate is $20 per hour, in accordance with Teamsters Local 863, with annual increases. Overtime is paid for hours over the shift. Union membership benefits include a Health and Welfare Package, with responsibilities for union initiation and dues.
