Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 Hourly

Description

Drivers are responsible for maintaining vehicles in good condition, inspecting them regularly, and transporting residents and staff to and from scheduled appointments and outings.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean DMV record and Class B licenses with passenger endorsement. Proper endorsement for air brake-equipped buses is required if applicable.
• Maintain a safe driving record and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff with compassion and sensitivity.
• Be flexible, punctual, dependable, and able to handle a heavy transportation schedule.
• Enrolled in DOT random substance and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Follow the driving schedule and keep vehicle maintenance logs.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and compliant with regulations.
• Report vehicle issues and maintain daily inspection checklists.
• Assist residents in boarding and exiting vehicles, providing door-to-door service when needed.
• Interact with residents monthly in Journey Care to build connections.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in activities and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months' experience driving large buses and transporting seniors preferred.
• Valid California Class B license with passenger endorsement.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and understand complex issues.
• Proficient in basic office technology and equipment.
• Good physical health, able to lift 20-30 pounds, and perform physical tasks including assisting residents.
• Display compassion and genuine concern for older adults and their families.
• Must pass criminal record clearance, possess current first aid training, and be at least 18 years old.
