Job summary

Individual FoodService in Bell, CA is seeking a Class B Delivery Route Driver to execute daily delivery routes and pickups for a variety of retail locations. Starting pay is $21.65 per hour, with opportunity for bonus after probation.

The role requires hands-on pallet handling, lift gate use, and the ability to operate a straight truck (24–26 ft) with manual transmission preferred. You will work within a defined radius and ensure timely deliveries and returns to the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Experience with Local Deliveries/inside deliveries.
• Experience driving Straight truck (bobtail 24ft to 26ft); Manual transmission preferred.
• Able to use lift gate and operate pallet jacks; use hand trucks and dollies.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; handle freight and unload using lift gate.

Responsibilities

• Review daily route and plan deliveries.
• Perform pre-trip inspection and check load for appropriateness.
• Drive to locations within a 10–250 mile radius.
• Unload and rotate merchandise; prepare for return to warehouse.
• Complete post-trip inspection and necessary paperwork.

Job description

The vehicles operated are based on license class B. The vehicles are rotated according to route, size of load, boxes, and drivers. The Truck Driver is responsible for following an established delivery route within an area of 10 to 250 mil est. in radius. Primarily, the Truck Driver delivers a variety of merchandise, or picks up merchandise when vehicle is empty in order to return it to the warehouse. The deliveries and pickups take place at a variety of retail stores, warehouses, restaurants, etc. All driving activities are performed in order to maintain a timely pickup or delivery schedule.

Starting Pay: $21.65

Requirements:

• Experience with Local Deliveries/inside deliveries
• Experience driving Straight truck (bobtail 24ft to 26ft) Manual transmission preferred
• Able to use lift gate, operate pallet jacks. Use hand truck & dollies.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, touch freight, break down pallets and unload vehicle with use of lift gate.

On a typical day the drivers perform the following duties:

1. Reviews daily route

4. Reviews customer’s needs

5. Unloads, orders, and/or rotates merchandise, retrieving same, as necessary.

6. Returns to truck yard

7. Unloads any applicable merchandise

8. Performs post-trip inspection

9. Completes necessary handwritten documentation.
