Job summary

Custom Truck One Source is seeking a Yard Attendant / Class B CDL Driver to support our Long Island operations. You will help check in equipment, prep trucks, move equipment around the yard, and make local deliveries and pickups for customers.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, operating a variety of trucks, and teamwork with the operations staff. Local daytime shifts and a competitive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record; Class A CDL is a plus.
• Experience in yard, fleet, equipment, rental, or transportation roles.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform hands-on tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and equipment to load, unload, move, and stage heavy items.
• Drive a variety of light- and heavy-duty trucks and power tools.
• Check in and prepare equipment for sales, rental, and service.
• Load and unload equipment and vehicles for customers and drivers and inspect for damage.
• Maintain the CTOS building, yard, and equipment to keep the location safe and organized.
• Monitor yard inventory and assist with incoming and outgoing freight.
• Clean and detail trucks to prepare them for customer delivery or shipment.
• Drive and road-test equipment as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices.
• Other duties as needed.

As a Yard Attendant / Class B CDL Driver, you’ll play an important role in keeping our rental fleet moving and customer ready. You’ll work with our operations team to check in equipment, prepare trucks for their next assignment, move equipment around the yard, and make local customer deliveries and pickups.

You’ll also have the opportunity to operate a variety of trucks and equipment, assist service technicians with road testing, and interact directly with CTOS customers. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, driving, equipment, and working with customers.

• Previous experience in a yard, fleet, equipment, rental, transportation, or similar role preferred.
• Experience operating heavy- and light-duty trucks and equipment.
• Comfortable working outdoors and performing hands-on work.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.
