Job summary

Meadow Gold Dairy is seeking a dependable CDL-B relief delivery driver to operate a straight truck and unload/deliver dairy products to customer locations. You will build relationships with customers, meet their delivery needs, and follow routes with safety as a priority.

The role offers a starting pay of $29.70 per hour with an increase to $33.00 within the first year, plus benefits including a pension plan/401(k), paid vacation and holidays, uniforms, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement.
• 2 years of experience driving a straight truck or pup truck preferred.
• Must meet DFA/DOT requirements and motor vehicle records standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle following DOT and DFA rules and safety practices.
• Deliver pre-ordered or unscheduled products to customers on schedule and handle special orders as needed.
• Load/unload manually when required and stock shelves or inventory as directed.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Complete daily paperwork, logs, and delivery tickets accurately.

Meadow Gold Dairy has immediate job openings for dependable CDL-B Relief Delivery Truck driver to operate a straight truck safely and efficiently and manually unload/deliver various dairy products to customer locations. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
• Deliver pre-ordered or unscheduled (special orders) products to customers (schools, grocery stores, nursing homes, etc.) according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations (e.g., put deliveries inside coolers and walk-ins) in a safe and timely manner
• Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel.
• Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns
• Based on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (manually with hook, 2-wheel cart and/or pallet jack); may include stocking, rotating, and/or ordering of product (varies from route to route)
• Collect empty cases
• Provide merchandising support based on customer requirements and promote the addition and sales of new products if appropriate
• Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers, resolve customer complaints, and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager
• Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check, etc.) and maintain a clean vehicle
• Ensure load is properly secured prior to travel and at each stop and make adjustments when needed
• Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day. Complete DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, trip records, and vehicle service reports
• Submit all customer paperwork and deposits daily, including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports
• Ensure sufficient route inventory levels to meet customer demands while adhering to account inventory control and company distribution procedures; document condition of freight before departure
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions
• Use company supported applications or systems properly
• Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience driving a straight truck or pup truck, within the last 5 years preferred
• Must meet minimum age requirements
• Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records
• Must meet all DOT requirements
• Certification and/or License – valid Class B/Class B with Air Brake CDL
