Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

About the Role: Are you an experienced attorney looking for a challenging yet flexible role? A leading law firm is seeking a dedicated Class Action Counsel, Brief Writer to join our team. This position is perfect for attorneys with a passion for wage and hour and class, collective, and/or representative actions who want to work remotely from anywhere in the United States. With no business-related travel or business development obligations, this role offers the opportunity to focus on substantive legal work while enjoying a balanced lifestyle.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft substantive motions and briefs, including motions to dismiss, demurrers, motions to compel arbitration, mediation briefs, oppositions to class certifications, and motions for summary judgment.
  • Consult with the trial team to formulate briefing strategies.
  • Analyze case facts, evaluate applicable legal authority, and create persuasive arguments.
  • Draft mediation statements and briefs as needed.
  • Review evidence for mediation statements and briefs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of legal experience in wage and hour and class, collective, and/or representative actions.
  • Significant litigation experience, including drafting various types of motions and briefs.
  • Ability to draft effective and persuasive factual and legal arguments on complex matters.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex matters confidently and effectively.
  • Active bar license in California and the candidate's state of residence.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
