Job summary

RadNet, Inc. is seeking a truck/tractor operator to drive and position trucks and trailers within yard and docking areas. You will transport units for repairs, assist in wash bay tasks, and maintain an orderly yard in Winston-Salem, NC.

The role requires a current CDL Class A license, recent tractor/trailer experience, and the ability to meet DOT and DFA MVR requirements. You will perform pre/post trip inspections, and participate in safety trainings and workshops as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL Class A license current in residence state.
  • Tanker endorsement if required.
  • Tractor/trailer experience preferred in last five years.
  • Meet DOT and DFA MVR requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Move and position trucks and trailers to optimize shipping.
  • Hook and unhook and move trucks around dock area.
  • Spot/load trailers at assigned dock space for unloading/loading.
  • Provide safe pre/post trip inspections of equipment.
  • Maintain trailer and inventory movement logs.
  • Ensure area is sanitary and clean.
  • Adhere to DFA, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies.
  • Attend driver workshops and training.

Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Drive truck or tractor at vehicle parking, yard or docking areas to move, position or park trucks and trailers to facilitate shipping and receiving functions. Transport trucks and trailers for repairs, as necessary, according to policies and procedures and safety protocols. May also operate wash bay using all necessary equipment to clean tractors and trailers. Keep the yard neat and orderly.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform trailer movement according to prioritization to optimize plant or warehouse efficiencies and production needs
  • Hook, unhook and move trucks to and from the service department and around dock area
  • Spot or position loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading
  • Connect loaded semitrailers to tractors for the drivers
  • Maintain accurate trailer and inventory movement log
  • Follow steps to ensure proper operation and perform periodic preventive maintenance including pre and post trip inspections of equipment in the area
  • Perform duties required to ensure that assigned area is sanitary and clean
  • Wash exterior of trucks and trailers if appropriate for yard location
  • Complete sales route deliveries and/or over-the-road routes, as needed
  • Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity and accidents and injuries
  • Attend all driver workshops and training sessions

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Tractor/trailer experience, within the last five years preferred
  • Must meet minimum age requirements
  • Meet all DOT requirements
  • Meet Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements
  • Certification and/or License – Current CDL (Class A) license in state of residence; current tanker endorsement if needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation
  • Able to work safely and recognize sudden hazards and adjust accordingly
  • Able to use computers and technology needed for the job
  • Skills with math sufficient to calculate load size
