Job summary

Pero Transport LLC in Benton Harbor, MI is seeking Class A CDL drivers for full-time, long-term careers. You must have at least three years of CDL experience and be able to operate a 53' tractor-trailer safely.

This role reports to the Transportation Manager and offers a professional work environment with growth opportunities. Responsibilities include local and interstate deliveries with strict adherence to DOT/FMCSA rules, pre/post-trip inspections, accurate paperwork, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A and FMCSR Part 383 compliance.
• Current Medical Card.
• Clean Driving Record.
• Register with the DOT Clearinghouse.
• Operate a 53' Tractor-Trailer safely and professionally.
• Ability to read/write English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles safely per DOT FMCSA standards.
• Perform interstate and local deliveries with on-time and temperature control.
• Verify documentation and complete required paperwork.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; report issues.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor equipment.
• Log Hours of Service using JJ Keller ELD; comply with FMCSA.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays and route changes.
• Follow dispatch instructions and routing protocols.
• Represent Pero Transport professionally at customer locations.
• Handle reefer operation and temperature control.
• Trailer coupling/uncoupling and landing gear operations.
• Use Comdata cards, lumper checks, and keep receipts.
• Participate in drug and alcohol screenings.
• Assist in orientation and mentoring of new drivers.
• Adhere to safety policies and attend safety meetings.
