Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in Bakersfield, CA is hiring a PRODUCTION ASSISTANT 2 - CLASS A. This non-exempt role supports daily truck routes, loading/unloading, and route safety under the Transportation Supervisor.

You will ensure routes are completed on time and donations arrive in good condition. Qualifications include a High School diploma, a valid Class A license, a clean driving record, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Clean driving record and valid Class A license.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate electronic equipment used for daily route information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and avoid off-route movements unless instructed.
• Manage time daily to complete routes within the approved work schedule.
• Responsible for safe loading and unloading of the assigned truck and aiding others as needed.
• Handle donated material with proper safety procedures and PPE.
• Train, instruct and supervise truck helper in the Salvation Army work.
• Maintain pre- and post-checks; report any issues to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Ensure courteous customer service and report donor problems to dispatch promptly.
• Promptly report accidents to the immediate supervisor and adhere to safety rules.
• Adhere to meal/rest breaks and other duties as assigned.
