Job summary

PET Dairy, a DFA farmer-owned brand, is seeking dependable CDL-A route delivery drivers to operate straight trucks and safely unload/deliver dairy products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. You will build relationships with customers and ensure needs are met with a friendly, positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card.
• Maintain DOT compliance and report moving violations promptly.
• Load/unload trucks and handle delivery tickets and logs.
• Stock and rotate products in warehouse as needed.
• Deliver to plants, branches, and large accounts, possibly intrastate.

Responsibilities

• Drive Tractor Trailer and transport products on assigned routes.
• Verify shipment accuracy and ensure saleable condition.
• Complete delivery tickets, pre/post trip inspections, and logs.
• Inspect equipment per DOT and company regulations.

Requirements

• Drives Tractor Trailer and transports products from location to another (plant, branch).
• May drop deliver to large accounts; non-driver-controlled order; delivers on a Tractor Trailer
• Verify shipment accuracy and assure saleable condition of product.
• Transact proper documentation in computerized hand-held device or paper.
• Load/unload trucks.
• Resolve discrepancies and communicate major issues to Supervisor.
• Inspect equipment according to company and DOT regulations; Tractor, trailer, pallet jack, load bars, lift gates.
• Maintain a valid Class A and current DOT medical card. Per Company and/or DOT regulations, report any moving violations to management immediately.
• Complete all daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, and vehicle service reports.
• Required to either transport product across state lines, or if delivering intrastate, to haul some products that originate in other states.
• Stock and/or rotate product in warehouse where required.
• Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Know and comply with all Department of Transportation regulations per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations handbook.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas.
• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
