Job summary

Feeding Northeast Florida is seeking a Driver (CDL A or B) to manage local pickups and deliveries for a 12-county service area. Responsibilities include proper inventory handling, order picking, and forklift operation in a warehouse environment.

The role requires a valid CDL, DOT medical card, forklift certification, and at least three years in a warehouse setting, with strong English reading/writing and basic math skills. Schedule is Monday–Saturday, with a non-exempt full-time status.

Qualifications

  • Possess a current, valid Florida Commercial Driver's License B or A, with current DOT medical card.
  • Good driving record.
  • Must have a Bluetooth hands-free headset.
  • At least three years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Possess basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
  • Must be forklift certified and trained in food safety.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as dollies and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Food Bank vehicles locally to make product pickups and deliveries to agencies and affiliate food banks.
  • Maintain appropriate usage of refer units on vehicles and ensure proper inventory handling.
  • Accurately pick and stage customer orders per guidelines and pick sheet.
  • Complete receiving forms for inventory documentation.
  • Safely store items on racks and in refrigerators according to product type and expiration date.
  • Operate pallet jacks and forklift with attention to safety and injury prevention.
  • Perform monthly inventory counts and report discrepancies to management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and secure equipment as required.
  • Coordinate with volunteers and explain procedures clearly when assisting with order processing.
  • Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with staff, volunteers, and the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for all aspects of warehouse product care from receiving, storage, and distribution to pickup and delivery.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Drive Food Bank vehicles locally to make product pickups and deliveries to agencies and affiliate food banks.
  2. Responsible for appropriate usage of refer units on vehicles, keeping storage types the same per pallet, and assisting in putting away inventory correctly. Frozen product to be at nose of vehicle for coldest temperature. Sanitation of vehicles.
  3. Ensure that customer's orders are accurately picked and staged for fleet. According to established guidelines and the appropriate "pick" sheet, accurately and thoroughly fulfill inventory order requests.
  4. Accurately account for all products received; complete receiving forms for inventory documentation
  5. Accurately, efficiently and safely store items on racks, shelves, bins or refrigerated rooms/freezers according to product type, size, expiration date or product code.
  6. Utilize conscientious and safe handling of all warehouse material handling equipment including pallet jacks, hand dollies and forklift in order to avoid personal injury to self, others and damage to product, equipment or facility.
  7. Perform monthly inventory count, as instructed, by physically counting and accurately recording product quantity and type, notifying manager immediately of discrepancies or problems.
  8. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area at all times including warehouse, grounds, bins and equipment; clean up spills immediately; keep walk areas and exits clear; lock and secure equipment and facility as required; notify manager of problems or needed repairs immediately.
  9. Work with and may oversee work of volunteers to complete order processing and customer service, requiring the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in explaining procedures or following up with volunteers.
  10. Demonstrate professionalism and speak respectfully when interacting with staff, volunteers and the general public.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

Work Environment:

This position is in an office/warehouse environment and requires a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to all weather conditions.
