PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Electronic Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all electronic and electrical systems and equipment within the facility. This includes managing preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on a wide range of automation, electrical, and mechanical systems. The position ensures the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of equipment to support production and warehouse activities and leads a team of maintenance technicians to address electrical and automation issues in a timely manner.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and direct a team in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic machinery, including PLCs, VFDs, servo motors, and other automation systems
- Supervise and organize the execution of daily maintenance tasks and projects, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations
- Oversee and prioritize preventive maintenance for all electrical and electronic systems, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule and efficiently
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team in diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and automation-related issues
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors on electrical projects, improvements, and system upgrades to enhance plant efficiency and reduce downtime
- Analyze and resolve equipment failures, making recommendations for replacement, upgrades, or system modifications to improve reliability and performance
- Assist in the development and implementation of the equipment PM program, including ensuring all electrical systems are up-to-date and maintained according to best practices and safety standards
- Monitor and plan for the stocking of necessary electrical components and parts, ensuring the maintenance team has the resources to perform repairs and upgrades
- Provide training to the electrical maintenance team to ensure they are up to date with the latest technologies, repair methods, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, troubleshooting efforts, and system upgrades, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Manage and improve machine programming and automation settings to enhance production efficiency
- Direct the repair and installation of electrical apparatus, including transformers, wiring, motors, sensors, and other components
- Maintain safety protocols, ensuring that all work complies with safety standards and regulations, including ARC Flash safety
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, using diagnostic tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with 5S principles and safety guidelines
AUTHORITY: Must have the ability to lead a crew that has been placed with them to execute the demands of the maintenance operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from the supervisor and written instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, or one year related manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
