Job summary

Eli Roberts & Sons, a Tallahassee-based fuel and lubricant distributor, is seeking a Class A Fuel Delivery Driver to join our team. You will deliver products per manifest, comply with DOT rules, and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach.

Work is Monday–Friday with a day shift and on-call availability. Qualified drivers must hold a Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements, a current DOT Medical Card, and be able to drive a manual transmission.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
• Current DOT Medical Certification (Medical Card).
• Must comply with all DOT mandates and regulations.
• Be at least 25 years of age.
• Able to drive a manual transmission without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products according to manifest in accordance with DOT regulations and company procedures.
• Operate company vehicles in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
• Coordinate deliveries with dispatchers to optimize routes.
• Apply knowledge of schedules, delivery times, traffic, and routes to improve efficiency.
• Load and unload products safely per load size and content description.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional appearance.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Maintain DOT log book and comply with federal requirements.
• Report accidents or damages and submit documentation promptly.
• Keep driver’s license, endorsements, and medical card up to date.

Services include fuel and oil supply, on-site fleet and generator fueling, cardlocks, and emergency services for a wide range of businesses.

Qualified Drivers must have:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required
• A current DOT Physical Certification (Medical Card)
• Be in compliance of all DOT mandates and regulations
• Be at least 25 years of age
• Must be able to drive manual, no restrictions

Responsibilities:

Drivers are responsible for transporting deliveries in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations by performing the following duties.

• Deliver products according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and DOT regulations
• Operates company vehicles in a professional, safe and courteous manner
• Works with dispatchers to coordinate the most efficient deliveries.
• Applies knowledge of customer schedules, delivery times, traffic volume and alternate routes to increase route efficiencies.
• Have the ability to safely load and unload products according to size of load and content description
• Provide good customer service and maintain a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company's image
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, corrective and preventative maintenance and documents on the driver’s truck inspection sheets
• Maintain daily DOT log book and EDL federal requirements
• Ensures delivery of appropriate merchandise in accordance with customer invoices
• Reports all accidents/damage/malfunctions to management and completes appropriate documentation in a timely fashion
• Maintains valid driver’s license, endorsements and DOT physical card and submits copies of renewals to the manager in a timely fashion
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

This job regularly requires employees to work while using hands; gripping fingers and hands. The employee is frequently required to sit; walk or stand; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and bend at waist. The employee is occasionally required to climb unassisted while carrying up to 40 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted; push or pull 200+ pounds with appropriate moving and safety equipment.
