Location: Wilmington, CA

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is looking for several Class A Drivers to join our team. Our drivers will be responsible for transporting containers to client facilities from our yard near the ports of Los Angeles & Long Beach. The ideal candidate will have a valid Commercial Driver’s License and a clean driving record. He/she must be able to lift heavy objects and be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Our drivers will be responsible for following all safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials to various destinations, focusing on safety, traffic rules, and regulations.
  • Accurately complete paperwork such as daily trip reports, vehicle condition reports, and customer work order tickets.
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks using DVIR.
  • Report unsafe situations or issues immediately to Supervisors and Dispatch.
  • Participate in training programs, meetings, and briefings as required.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors to improve routes and practices.
  • Report incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage promptly.
  • Notify Supervisors and Dispatch of service interruptions or hazards.
  • Communicate customer requests effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Drive trucks to and from facilities, adhering to traffic laws.
  • Load and unload cargo safely.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and keep track of work hours and mileage.
  • Report accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Follow company policies and maintain a clean work environment.

Requisitos, Cualificaciones y Habilidades Críticas

  • Valid/Current Class A Commercial Driver’s License REQUIRED
  • Ability to haul 40’ - 53’ trailers
  • Ability to read maps/GPS
  • Physical ability to perform job requirements
  • Experience driving manual and automatic transmissions
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience REQUIRED
  • Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain PREFERRED
  • 21 years or older REQUIRED
  • Clean MVR with no more than 2 violations in 3 years REQUIRED
  • Pass pre-employment physical and DOT drug screening
  • Experience with port drayage trucks PREFERRED
  • Experience with containerized cargo PREFERRED
  • Forklift certification PREFERRED

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear
  • Stand and walk frequently
  • Lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Specific vision abilities required
  • Frequent travel expected

Compensation

The role offers an average annual salary (performance-based) from $33,280 to $104,000, with benefits including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and life insurance. Final pay depends on performance, experience, and qualifications.
