Job summary

Caruso USA is seeking an experienced Route Driver to pick up routes for delivery of produce and meal kits from Chester, VA. You will operate 26ft boxes and Class A tractors, following DOT regulations and safety protocols.

The role emphasizes professional customer service, on-time delivery, and adherence to company policies. Candidates must be able to work 2nd shift into 3rd shift, Saturdays, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 months verifiable Class A driving experience in the last 3 years.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work Saturdays and 2nd into 3rd shift.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in 24 months.

Caruso is a family owned, 4th generation company that delivers fresh ready-to-eat, and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores all over the USA.

We are looking for experienced Class A drivers to pick up routes in between 6 PM and 8 PM out of Chester VA. This will be a mix of driving 26ft Box Trucks and Class A Tractor Trailers.

This is touch freight and home daily.

Job Summary

The Route Driver is the face of the company and must always project a professional and positive image of Caruso while maintaining and building excellent customer relationships. This person is responsible for the safe operation of a motor vehicle and safely pick up and drop off items to customers so that the customer is given an excellent service experience. This person must maintain compliance with all company policies/procedures and DOT regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Operate a company provided CMV.
• Deliver products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
• Follows routes and time schedule.
• Load, unload, and deliver to customer specifications and obtain required customer sign offs.
• Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with customers.
• Review and verify invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
• Completes DVIR’s (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
• Follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries.
• Maintains delivery logs and records.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.

Requirements

• 1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 2. Must be able to work Saturday.
• 3. Must be able to work 2nd into 3rd shift.
• 4. Must have at least 9 months of verifiable Class A driving experience in the last 3 years.
• 5. A good driving record including none of the following:
  • Reckless driving
  • DUI/OMVI
  • Hit and Run
  • Excessive Speed as defined by DOT (15+ miles over)
  • No more than two moving violations within the last 24 months
• 6. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• 7. Ability to work and drive in all types of weather.
• 8. Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• 9. Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled.
• 10. Must have at least 9 months of verifiable experience in the last 3 years.
