Murrey’s Disposal , a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Class A Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team at the Hauling location in Fife, WA . Previous waste experience is highly desirable!
PAY AND SCHEDULE:
Competitive wages starting between $35.00 and $35.50 per hour
Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, for a 45-hour workweek
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Previous waste experience is preferred but not required.
Read route sheets and service each customer as identified or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Handle physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, occasionally without assistance.
Transport various containers to designated dump or swap locations.
Provide courteous and professional service at each facility.
Be willing to learn and operate different types of Class A equipment (e.g., Flatbed,Side-dump, Lowboy, Dump & Pup, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Extensive physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds, is required.
The work environment may involve exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Basic knowledge of truck components to perform pre-and post-trip inspections.
