Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring for a Class A Driver in Cedar Rapids, IA. This local route offers home daily opportunities and a pay rate of $26.00 - $31.00 per hour. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday with weekends off and early dispatch times.

Must have a valid Class A CDL and DOT qualifications. Responsibilities include delivering to local customers, loading/unloading, maintaining safety inspections, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Class A Driver Education + Licensing Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid Class A CDL required

Class A Driver Skills + Experience Requirements

• Clean driving record and valid driver's license required.

• Ability to operate lift truck equipment preferred.
• Experience using handheld RF scanners is preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Eclipse system experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.

Class A Driver Job Duties

• Safely operate a Class A CDL delivery vehicle to transport products to local customers.
• Complete deliveries accurately while obtaining required proof of delivery.
• Load and unload products safely and efficiently.
• Provide professional customer service and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Communicate with customers regarding deliveries, products, and services.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on delivery vehicles.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and assist with dock organization.
• Use handheld scanners and computer systems to complete delivery documentation.
• Identify customer needs and communicate sales opportunities or feedback to appropriate teams.

Class A Driver Physical Capabilities

• Lift, carry, and move products up to 100 lbs.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles throughout the workday.
• Sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
• Stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, balance, and reach as needed.
• Perform repetitive lifting and material handling tasks.
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise, dust, and mechanical hazards.
• Safely operate equipment and navigate delivery environments.
