Location: Doraville-DORA

Summary of Position:

The Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems related to heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. Welding and fabrication skills may be required.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Report to the Maintenance Supervisor and diagnose issues related to the fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles.
  2. Maintain and repair vehicles and equipment from brands such as Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, and McNeilus.
  3. Support coworkers in safe and efficient maintenance and repair activities.
  4. Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
  5. Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant work area.
  6. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
  7. Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  8. Uphold high standards of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform drive train, engine, transmission inspections, diagnosis, and repairs.
  • Assess structural damage and guide repairs.
  • Provide guidance to shop technicians.
  • CDL Class B preferred or ability to obtain one.
  • Obtain 7 ASE Certifications or equivalent within 36 months.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with medium-duty class 8 vehicles, preferably in waste/recycling industry.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements and computer proficiency (Dossier, Microsoft Office).
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in company-sponsored training.
  • Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and working in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities. Exposure to chemicals and waste is possible.

Work Environment:

Primarily inside and outside work, with occasional exposure to extreme weather.
