Our Iowa City location is currently recruiting drivers in the Hannibal, MO area. This driver position involves both routes and shuttles.

• All trailers are equipped with power jacks, dock, and lift gate deliveries.

Job Responsibilities

The essential functions of the CDL Driver include performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring safe loading and handling, delivering and unloading products, reviewing paperwork for accuracy, checking order quantities, correcting addresses and documentation, completing timecards, entering trip data into onboard computers, and maintaining paper logs when necessary.

Additional Functions

• Complying with FMCSA regulations.
• Delivering and unloading products using equipment such as tractor-trailers, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, and load bars.
• Operating vehicles safely within UNFI guidelines to minimize accidents and violations.
• Reporting accidents immediately to the Transportation Manager.
• Maintaining vehicles' safety and condition, reporting defects promptly using the DCVR form.
• Picking up supplies and backhauls from vendors, completing related paperwork.
• Addressing customer issues professionally.
• Ensuring orders arrive in quality condition and match the initial order.
• Communicating professionally with customers and vendors.

Job Requirements

Applicants must understand receiving and shipping functions, possess good time management, computer, and math skills, and have excellent communication skills. Specific certifications, knowledge, and experience are required:

• A valid medical card per FMCSA regulations and a valid state-issued Commercial Driver’s License (Class A for CDL Drivers).
• Ability to pass written exams and road tests.
• Basic knowledge of DOT laws and UNFI safety standards.
