Due to rapid growth, Dennis Food Service is now accepting job applications for experienced Class A Delivery Drivers in our South Portland, ME market.

Routes depart and return daily from our South Portland, ME yard.

Candidates must have a professional appearance, be self-motivated, safety conscious, must have excellent customer service skills and must have the ability to deliver food service products in the heat of summer and the cold of winter. Our Class A Delivery drivers leave each morning and deliver frozen, refrigerated, and dry food products and cleaning supplies to our customer base of schools, hospitals, hotels and inns, restaurants, and convenience stores across the State of Maine and New Hampshire. Drivers are compensated based upon the number of pieces delivered, miles driven, and number of deliveries. This is a Monday thru Friday position with optional weekend work. Our drivers return home daily - no overnights.

Minimum pay per day is $309.50.

100% Employee-Owned Company - eligible for company stock after one year!

Qualified Drivers Must Have The Following

• Current and valid CDL A Driver’s License
• Minimum 2-3 years delivery driver experience (preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Willing to be a strong member of the team
• Have solid written and oral skills
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check
• Must be able to lift product up to 100 lbs. and lift 10 – 80 lbs. frequently
  
  

Daily Duties Include

• Report to work on or before scheduled time
• Deliver correct product to the correct customers in a timely manner
• Maintain a working relationship with all customers and co-workers
• Report any accidents and/ or damage to Company equipment or Customer product
• Understand and keep an accurate Logbook as required by Federal DOT Regulations
• Travel all routes as scheduled
• Communicate daily with the Transportation Manager
• Act as the last line of defense to ensure that products delivered to our customers are consistent with the policies and procedures as set forth in our Food Safety Plan.
