Job summary

American Welding & Gas, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Delivery Driver for our Columbia, SC area. You will deliver products and equipment to customers, collect returns, and ensure paperwork accuracy while complying with DOT/OSHA regulations.

Required are a Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker & Airbrakes endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift heavy cylinders. Training and benefits are provided by an established national supplier.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL required with Hazmat, Tanker & Airbrakes endorsements.
• Clean commercial driving record 3+ years.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; lift 50–75 lbs frequently and maneuver 100+ lb cylinders.

Responsibilities

Duties

• Use company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner.
• Pick up returns at customer place of business.
• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Comply with all DOT + OSHA Regulations.
• Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently.
• Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Class A CDL Required with Hazmat, Tanker & Airbrakes Endorsement.
• Clean commercial driving record 3+ years.
• Able to read and write English.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and company administered road test.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
• Drug Free work environment.
