Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Fleet Driver I in Schaumburg, IL. The role focuses on transporting vehicles safely and efficiently, performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and maintaining DOT logs.

You will move cars between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company truck while upholding CarMax values and safety standards. The position requires a valid Class A CDL, 21+ years old, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past 3 years.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; secure, block, and restrain vehicles during transport; and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi-level transport decks.
• Must meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience or CMV driving experience at CarMax.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and CarMax standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently.
