Job summary

CarMax in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Fleet Driver to transport vehicles safely and on schedule, supporting inventory flow and customer service.

Responsibilities include pre-trip/post-trip inspections, DOT logs, loading, securing, and delivering vehicles while working outdoors in all weather with a Class A CDL and CMV experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state-issued Class A CDL.
• 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (CMV).
• 2+ years CMV driving experience at CarMax (non-Class A CMV acceptable).
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with safety compliance.

Role Responsibilities

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards using company hauler

• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation

• Transport with Care — load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently, including hands‑on freight handling, ladder climbing, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Be accountable — move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company‑provided truck, keeping your equipment clean, well‑maintained, and operationally ready.

• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule.

• Represent CarMax professionally — interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time.

Required Qualifications – All Drivers

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state‑issued driver’s license.

• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.

• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; secure, block, and restrain vehicles during transport; and perform repetitive physical tasks including pulling, torquing, and tensioning chains, binders, and straps to meet FMCSA and CarMax load securement standards.

• Must be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi‑level transport decks.

• Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.

• Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including exposure to noise and inclement weather.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills with adherence to CarMax policies and safety standards.

• Works efficiently and uses time wisely.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state.

• 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (Military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience considered).


• 2+ years of CMV driving experience at CarMax (non‑Class A CMV experience acceptable).

$26.20 - $44.60

Benefits:

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

Associates that are considered full‑time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:

• To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.


• For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.

Associates considered full‑time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
