As an Underground Laborer with an active Class A CDL, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing underground telecommunications infrastructure. You will work closely with the team to ensure successful project completion, including conduit placement, cable installation, and equipment setup in underground pathways. Your physical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will contribute to high-quality underground construction work.

This is an Hourly Non-Exempt position reporting to the Underground Foreman.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• Current Class A CDL license with a clean driving record
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to submit daily deliverables and reports
• Maintain a safe work environment with proper PPE
• Punctuality and dependability with minimal unexcused absences
• Maintain, clean, and organize work area, truck, equipment, and tools
• Effective collaboration with team members, vendors, and customers
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Submit fuel slips, equipment walkthroughs, and documentation
• Proper fueling of vehicles and equipment
• Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions

CDL Responsibilities:

• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely, complying with traffic laws and safety regulations
• Drive to job sites, ensuring timely and safe transportation of materials and equipment
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain logs of vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, and travel routes
• Load and unload materials and equipment, securing them properly
• Navigate complex job sites and tight spaces while operating large vehicles
• Ensure safe delivery of fiber optic materials and supplies

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with underground fiber optic infrastructure installation, maintenance, and repair
• Assist in trenching, cable pulling, and fiber splicing
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA/NESC standards
• Complete work reports, timesheets, and project documentation
• Maintain and inspect vehicles and equipment
• Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and properly
• Be available for on-call rotations and flexible hours
• Maintain professionalism with customers, vendors, and team members

Additional Responsibilities:

• Complete paperwork and documentation accurately and timely
