Class A CDL Truck Driver (Heavy Haul/Girder Driver) - County Materials (Transportation)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Girder Driver for our customer, County Materials, located in Janesville, WI. Military service members and veterans are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties

1. Demonstrate excellent customer service while interacting with clients.
2. Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and in-route inspections on all equipment, including securement devices.
3. Properly secure loads prior to transport following DOT regulations.
4. Operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport products, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
5. Follow all safety policies, including the use of proper PPE.
6. Participate in loading and unloading of girders.
7. Conduct route surveys prior to delivery.
8. Maintain cleanliness and good operating condition of assigned tractor.
9. Receive work assignments and report back on job completion.
10. Communicate consistently with dispatchers.
11. Maintain professional and courteous customer relations.

Work Environment

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
• Work near moving machinery and equipment.
• Operate in noisy environments.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, crouching, kneeling, bending.
• Lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds.
• Pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder level.

Experience & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required prior to hire.
• 2-4 years of Class A CDL driving experience.
• Endorsement for doubles and triples is required.
