Denali is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver with a tanker endorsement and end dump experience to support transportation operations across assigned service areas. This traveling position requires staying out for two to three weeks at a time and working six days per week, approximately 55-65 hours per week.
The driver will safely transport assigned materials, operate tanker and end dump equipment, maintain accurate records, and communicate with customers and the operations team. Equipment may include 30-45-foot open-top dump trailers and other assigned combination vehicles.
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a clear mind and diligence. Employees are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.
Safely operate a tractor-trailer with assigned tanker or end dump equipment.
Load, transport, and unload materials at approved destinations according to company procedures and customer requirements.
Travel throughout assigned service areas and remain away from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Work six days per week, approximately 55-65 hours per week, while complying with applicable DOT hours-of-service requirements.
Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in accordance with DOT requirements and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report equipment defects or maintenance concerns.
Maintain accurate electronic driver logs, service tickets, contamination reports, maintenance records, and other required documentation.
Maintain truck and trailer cleanliness and perform basic equipment maintenance or repairs within the scope of training.
Communicate regularly with customers, vendors, and the operations team regarding deliveries, service needs, equipment concerns, and schedule changes.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately to the safety manager.
Participate in required safety calls, training, and briefings.
Use a computer and cell phone for training, communication, documentation, and expense management.
Valid Class A CDL in the state of residence with a tanker endorsement.
End dump operating experience required.
At least two years of verifiable commercial driving experience and a clean driving record.
At least 21 years of age.
Current DOT medical card and ability to meet DOT physical requirements.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and company road test.
Willingness to travel and remain away from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Availability to work six days per week and approximately 55-65 hours per week.
Residence within the designated hiring area and willingness to park equipment at an approved location.
No DUI or DWI conviction in a commercial or personal vehicle within the past three years.
No DOT drug or alcohol violation within the past three years.
Safe operation of manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Experience using an electronic logging system.
Strong time management and ability to maintain dependable service schedules.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to follow instructions and complete accurate reports and records.
Basic computer and cell phone skills.
Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete required records.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred.
Regularly lift, pull, or push up to 70 pounds.
Bend, stoop, twist, shovel, and reach overhead as required.
Work around unpleasant odors associated with food waste and agricultural materials.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Safely enter and exit equipment and perform inspections, loading, and unloading duties.
