Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Medical clearance card.
• Experience around trucks, trailers, tractors or similar equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of rural roads and field conditions is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trailers are positioned for safe and efficient access.
• Coordinate trailer placement in designated fields.
• Communicate with supply chain regarding trailer locations and schedules.
• Monitor fields and move or replace trailers as needed.
• Maintain records of trailer locations and movements.
• Ensure trailers are available when and where needed.
• Inspect field entrances and loading areas for hazards.
• Identify unsafe access points before placement.
• Communicate field conditions and weather issues to management.
• Minimize downtime by prompt trailer replacement.
• Verify trailers meet company procedures and landowner requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with landowners, drivers, crews, and management.
• Follow DOT and safety procedures.

The Trailer & Field Coordinator is responsible for ensuring semi-trailers are properly placed, positioned, and available in designated fields for pine-straw harvesting operations. This position serves as an important link between field crews, truck drivers, and management to keep harvesting operations moving safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, safety-minded, and comfortable working outdoors and traveling between multiple harvesting locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure trailers are positioned in locations that provide safe and efficient access for harvesting crews and equipment.
• Coordinate the placement of semi-trailers in designated pine-straw harvesting fields.
• Communicate with the Supply Chain Coordinator regarding trailer locations, pickup schedules, and field access.
• Monitor fields to determine when trailers need to be moved, replaced, or repositioned.
• Keep accurate records of trailer locations and movements.
• Coordinate with harvesting crews to ensure trailers are available when and where they are needed.
• Inspect field entrances, roads, and loading areas for accessibility and potential hazards.
• Help identify difficult or unsafe access points before trailers are placed.
• Communicate changing field conditions, weather issues, and access problems to management.
• Assist in minimizing downtime by making sure empty trailers are removed and replacement trailers are delivered promptly.
• Verify that trailers are placed according to company procedures and landowner requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with landowners, truck drivers, harvesting crews, and company management.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT and workplace safety requirements.
• Perform other field and logistics duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and good driving record. Medical clearance card
• Experience operating or working around trucks, trailers, tractors, or other agricultural/forestry equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of rural roads, timberland, and field conditions is a plus.
• Ability to navigate large properties and locate designated harvesting fields.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to make sound decisions regarding trailer placement and field accessibility.
• Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Ability to safely walk uneven terrain and work around heavy equipment.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours when harvesting schedules require it.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to walk through uneven, wooded, and muddy terrain.
• Ability to climb in and out of vehicles and inspect field and loading areas.
• Ability to work around semi-trucks, trailers, tractors, and harvesting equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry items as required for normal field operations.
