Job summary

Best Warehousing & Transportation Inc. is seeking a reliable OTR Truck Driver for a Charlotte, NC base with regional runs to Indianapolis, Zanesville and St. Joseph.

This role requires extended time away from home and a strong focus on on-time delivery, cargo integrity and regulatory compliance. You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer, perform DOT inspections, maintain ELD records, and ensure safety in loading, unloading and securing freight.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean MVR and current DOT medical certificate.
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable OTR or long-haul CDL driving experience.
• Proficiency with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and standard fleet tech.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state DOT regulations and FMCSA rules.
• Ability to operate a 53’ dry van or flatbed trailer as applicable.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely across routes including Charlotte, Indianapolis, Zanesville, and St. Joseph.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and policy.
• Maintain accurate ELD records and required documentation.
• Load, secure, and unload freight; verify contents with bills of lading.
• Communicate route status, delays, and delivery confirmations with dispatch.
• Comply with Hours of Service regulations for safety.
• Perform basic roadside maintenance and report issues promptly.
• Represent the company professionally at customer sites.
• Keep cab/ trailer clean and DOT-compliant.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver based out of Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will haul freight across a regional corridor spanning Indianapolis, IN; Zanesville, OH; and St. Joseph, MO. This role requires extended time away from home and demands a professional who takes pride in on-time delivery, cargo integrity, and compliance with all federal and state transportation regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and efficiently across assigned routes including Charlotte, NC; Indianapolis, IN; Zanesville, OH; and St. Joseph, MO.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policy.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation.
• Load, secure, and unload freight as needed; verify shipment contents against bills of lading.
• Maintain consistent communication with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and delivery confirmations.
• Adhere strictly to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations to ensure driver and public safety.
• Perform basic roadside maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Represent the company professionally at all customer and shipper/receiver locations.
• Keep the cab and trailer clean, organized, and in compliance with DOT standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean MVR.
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable OTR or long-haul CDL driving experience.
• Current DOT medical certificate (or ability to obtain one prior to start).
• Proficiency with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and standard fleet technology.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state DOT regulations, HOS rules, and FMCSA requirements.
• Ability to safely operate a 53’ dry van or flatbed trailer (specify as applicable).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

PAY

$75-85,000 per year.
