Job summary

PDM Steel Service is seeking a transportation specialist to move finished goods and materials between plants, distribution centers, and customers. You will inspect vehicles, ensure on-time deliveries, and perform routine maintenance while supporting warehouse duties as needed.

The role requires driving trucks under DOT regulations, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working with forklifts and cranes. Excellent safety and communication are essential to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid state CDL.
• DOT physical and medical requirements must be met and random drug screenings passed.
• Read maps, work orders, and instructions clearly and precisely.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing routine truck maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a semi-truck with one or two trailers according to DOT laws.
• Transport materials to destinations safely and on schedule.
• Convey materials using overhead cranes or forklifts as needed.
• Receive and transport COD from customers.
• Perform daily inspections on trucks, trailers, and cargo equipment.
• Maintain tire pressure, oil, coolant, and fuel levels; perform routine maintenance.
• Use an ELD to track and share duty status data.
• Keep truck and trailer clean at all times; weather permitting.
• May be assigned to warehouse duties, including loading/unloading trailers.
• Execute any additional tasks assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
