Job summary

MCG Tran is seeking a dedicated flatbed driver to deliver unfinished steel tube and conduit to local customers in the Davenport, IA area. Most loads are preloaded with no driver unloads, and uniforms are provided. Drivers tarps manually about 1 load per week and typically cover ~170 miles with 6 stops per day.

Responsibilities include strapping loads (100% of the time) and frequently climbing on/off trailers. Training for flatbed certification is provided by JBH Account management as needed.

Qualifications

• Flatbed certification required or training provided by employer.
• Ability to strap loads securely on flatbeds.
• Willingness to climb on and off trailers multiple times per day.

Job DescriptionEQUIPMENT IS MANUAL - NO AUTOMATIC RESTRICTIONS Position Details:

• Flatbed account delivering unfinished steel tube and conduit to local customers
• Drivers will use conestoga and occasionally pup trailers to keep the product protected
  • On average, drivers are required to manually tarp 1 load/week on standard flatbeds (tarps can weigh up to 50lbs)
• 10% of loads are drop/hook and 90% of loads are live unloads
• Close to 100% preloaded trailers
• No driver unload
• Driver should expect an average of 170 miles and 6 stops per day
• Uniforms are required, but provided by customer

Special Requirements:

• Driver will be required to get flat bed certified, JBH Account management will set up the training
• Strapping loads will be required 100% of the time
• Drivers may be required to throw straps over freight stacked 12'6\" high
• Drivers are required to climb on and off trailers multiple times per day
