Mercer Milling Company in Liverpool, NY is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This full-time, hourly position focuses on delivering dairy feed pre-mix locally with 5:00 AM start, Monday through Friday, and potential overtime based on business needs.

You will operate a manual transmission truck, perform safe loading/unloading, assist warehouse staff, and uphold DOT and safety policies while maintaining accurate deliveries and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL License.
• Minimum Class A CDL truck driving experience of 1 year.
• Possess valid DOT Medical Card.
• Forklift experience and OSHA safety compliance preferred.
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission.

Responsibilities

• Weekly delivery of 5 to 7 local loads with 1 to 6 stops per load.
• Freight: 1 ton tote or bags on pallets.
• Maintain strict adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Follow all aspects of operating vehicle according to DOT standards.
• Cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment.
• Assist Mercer Warehouse staff with picking and loading as needed.
• Drive to customer location and unload in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate professional appearance and communication.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Class A CDL Driver – Liverpool, New York

We are in search of a team-oriented and flexible individual to join our team of Drivers at Mercer. This fulltime hourly role is responsible for multiple duties in a fast-paced environment related to the successful delivery of high-quality dairy feed pre-mix. The role reports to the Assistant Plant Manager and receives input from quality, supply chain, nutrition, and overall managerial leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Weekly delivery of 5 to 7 local loads with 1 to 6 stops per load
• o Freight: 1 ton tote or bags on pallets
• Maintain strict adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures
• o Will follow all aspects of operating vehicle according to DOT standards
• o Cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment
• Follow all expectations to ensure efficient and accurate delivery to customers (detailed instructions)
• Assist Mercer Warehouse staff with picking and loading as needed
• o Drive to customer location and unload in a timely manner
• o Demonstrate good professionalism (appearance, attitude, communication, cleanliness of equipment, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Must be able to drive a manual transmission
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive/results orientation; demonstrate good attendance, accuracy and responsibility

Physical Requirements:

• Periods working on feet, walking, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing, and performing repetitive actions
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Manual dexterity needed to operate machinery and equipment
• Visual acuity needed to inspect machinery
• Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, height, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

This is a full-time non-exempt, hourly position with a competitive hourly rate and benefits package, which includes eligibility for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, HSA, FSA, PTO, Sick, and 401(K) programs. The hourly range set for this position is between $28 - $34 per hour. Eligible for a pay increase after 90-day probationary period.
