Job Description

AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Class A CDL Driver at our Plymouth Indiana facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help deliver our steel products safely and on time, while maintaining great customer relationships. This position involves daily routes (no OTR).

Duties And Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer trucks to transport and deliver goods to designated locations.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure proper working condition.
• Obey traffic laws and follow established transportation procedures.
• Inspect and securely load cargo for delivery.
• Report mechanical issues encountered with vehicles.
• Present bills and receipts, and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
• Verify inventory loads against shipping documents.
• Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs, cargo records, and billing statements in accordance with regulations.
• Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL license with no suspensions.
• 2-5 years of commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating a flatbed trailer truck.
• Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.
