Job summary

AZZ Inc. has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Class A CDL Driver at our Plymouth facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will help deliver our steel products safely and on time, while maintaining great customer relationships.

This is for daily routes (no OTR) only. Qualifications include a valid Class A CDL with no suspensions, 2–5 years of commercial driving experience, and experience operating a flatbed trailer. Steel or industrial machinery hauling is preferred.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required with no suspensions.
• 2–5 years of commercial driving experience required.
• Experience operating a flatbed trailer preferred.
• Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer to transport and deliver goods to designated locations.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Follow traffic laws and established procedures.
• Load and unload trucks, vans, and/or automobiles.
• Maintain vehicle records, logs, and cargo paperwork according to regulations.
• Read maps and follow geographic directions.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• May drive a tractor-trailer truck combination to transport and deliver goods to and from designated locations.
• Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Loads and unloads trucks, vans and/or automobiles.
• Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Presents bills and receipts and collects payments for goods delivered or loaded.
• Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Turns in receipts and money received from deliveries.
• Maintains records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
• Reads maps and follows written and verbal geographic directions.

Qualifications

• A CDL – Class A license under no type of suspension is required
• 2-5 years of commercial driving experience is required
• Must have experience operating a flatbed trailer truck
• Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Education

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
