Job summary

Precoat Metals is seeking a dedicated delivery driver for our Beaumont facility. This role includes delivering our steel products while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

The successful candidate must possess a valid CDL – Class A license, a high school diploma, and have preferred experience in commercial driving. Responsibilities include operating a Ram 3500 Dually and ensuring vehicle maintenance and safety adherence.

• Experience operating a flatbed trailer truck is preferred.

Job Description

AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a delivery driver at our Beaumont facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will help deliver our steel products safely and on time, while maintaining great customer relationships. This is mainly daily routes, however, some OTR may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Primarily operate aRam 3500 Dually with a 40 ft gooseneck trailer to transport and deliver goods to and from designated locations. May drive tractor-trailer truck combination.
• Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Loads and unloads trucks, vans and/or automobiles.
• Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Presents bills and receipts and collects payments for goods delivered or loaded.
• Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Turns in receipts and money received from deliveries.
• Maintains records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
• Reads maps and follows written and verbal geographic directions.

Qualifications

• A CDL – Class A license under no type of suspension is required
• 2-5 years of commercial driving experience is preferred
• Prefer experience operating a flatbed trailer truck
• Experience hauling steel with combined vehicle weight 6VWR>26001 lbs or industrial machinery is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
