Job summary

UPS is seeking a Driver/Dockworker in the United States (Newburgh, NY area) to load, unload, label and deliver shipments using standard procedures. The role may involve tractor-trailer delivery to multiple locations; shifts include days, nights and weekends with safety-tested operations and required licenses.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A CDL with tractor/trailer experience.
• HazMat endorsement required.
• Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Must pass a DOT physical including drug screen and background checks.
• Experience using material handling equipment (pallet movers, stand-up forklifts).
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the provided uniform.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload shipments, and ensure accurate labeling and delivery.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed to move palletized freight.
• Deliver and pick up packages to residential or commercial properties, using safe transportation methods.
• Maintain efficient, customer-focused delivery services and use technology to aid in route execution.

Job Description: Driver/Dockworker

This position involves the timely pickup, labeling, loading and delivery of shipments, using the required equipment, policies and procedures. This position could involve driving a tractor-trailer unit to one or more customer locations and returning to the original domicile during the same shift.

MUST MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS AT THE TIME OF APPLYING

• Driver/Dockworkers workdays, nights and/or weekends
• Class A CDL with tractor/trailer experience
• Ability to drive a automatic & manual transmission
• HazMat endorsement
• Pass a UPS road test, a DOT physical including a drug screen and all necessary background checks
• Utilize various pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including pallet movers and stand. up forklifts to load/unload palletized freight
• The ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Driver/Dockworker are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform

This position is responsible for loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, scanning, sorting, and stocking packages and may utilize heavy machinery to complete tasks. This position delivers and picks up packages to and from residential and/or commercial properties. He/She utilizes safe transportation methods to get to and from destinations. This position ensures the best customer service through efficiency and dedication. He/She leverages technology to effectively aid in delivery services.

Pay Range:
