Job summary

New Hope Freight Inc is seeking a skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our Bakersfield, CA team. You will hit the road delivering freight safely and on time while upholding professional service.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, log maintenance, and proactive communication with dispatch. The role requires DOT knowledge, a clean driving record, and reliable, punctual performance to support our growing operations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Clean MVR and satisfactory driving record.
• Must meet DOT physical and medical certification requirements.
• Experience with ELD systems and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
• Strong knowledge of DOT safety rules and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently.
• Pick up and deliver loads according to assigned schedules and route plans.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, and electronic records (ELD/HOS compliance).
• Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route status, delays, or issues.
• Ensure proper securement and handling of cargo throughout transport.
• Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor with customers and team members.
