Job Description

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Toledo, OH, is looking for a Class A or B CDL Operator to join their safety-conscious team! The Class A/B CDL Operator is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all service lines. They supervise and complete single-task jobs requiring one crew and complete turnarounds with management oversight at the client’s site, in accordance with client and business requirements, company policies, practices, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions;
  2. Hands-on operation of vacuum and hydroblasting equipment;
  3. Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps;
  4. Operate equipment by energizing the pumping and/or specialized hydroblasting and chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment;
  5. Examine surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications;
  6. Perform routine maintenance on equipment;
  7. Perform duties related to liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders;
  8. May direct a crew of vacuum technicians;
  9. Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations;
  10. Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with vehicle policies and DOT requirements;
  11. Loading and unloading hoses;
  12. Unload vacuum trucks at the dump site;
  13. Provide general maintenance in the field;
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Vocational training including safety courses, on-the-job training, and relevant experience;
  • Proficiency in English to understand safety training and respond in emergencies;
  • Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A or B, and adherence to company driving policies;
  • Smartphone for Electronic Logging Device;
  • Possibly required: Federal TWIC card;
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers;
  • Experience operating vacuum trucks;
  • Knowledge of wet and dry vacuum equipment operation.

What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience;
  • Class A or B CDL License;
  • Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements preferred.
