Job summary

HPC-Industrial, a Clean Harbors company, located in New Lenox, IL, is seeking a Class A or B CDL Driver/Equipment Operator with manual transmission experience. You will safely operate vacuum and hydro blasting equipment across service lines, ensuring compliance with safety policies and DOT requirements.

Ideal candidates hold Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, TWIC or ability to obtain, and have ELD smartphone experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class A or B with no manual restrictions, must drive manual transmissions.
• HazMat and Tanker endorsements required.
• TWIC required or able to obtain.
• Experience operating a vacuum truck and related equipment.
• Smartphone experience for Electronic Logging Device (ELD).

Responsibilities

• Act as safety representative for company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Operate vacuum and hydro blasting equipment and UH‑P pumps.
• Drive and manage equipment including hose loading/unloading and maintenance.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and comply with DOT regulations.
• May direct a crew of vacuum technicians and transport equipment to sites.
• Support field maintenance and general field duties as needed.

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in New Lenox, IL is looking for a Class A or B CDL Driver / Equipment Operator with manual transmission experience to join their safety conscious team! The CDL Operator is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all service lines. The operator supervises and completes single‑task jobs requiring one crew, and completes turnarounds with management oversight at client sites in accordance with client and business requirements and company policies, practices, and procedures. Must be licensed to drive manual transmission trucks. TWIC required or must be able to obtain. Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required. Key Responsibilities

• Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands‑on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response and administrative functions;
• Hands‑on operation vacuum equipment and hydro blasting equipment;
• Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High‑Pressure pumps;
• Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized hydro blasting and/or chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks and cutting equipment being used on the job;
• May be required to examine surface cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications;
• Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job;
• Perform any and all duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines and jet rodders;
• May direct a crew of vacuum technicians;
• May transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations;
• Completes pre and post trip inspections, driver's logs and complies with all other vehicle policy and DOT requirements;
• Loading and unloading hoses;
• Unload vacuum truck at the dump site;
• Provide general maintenance in the field;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on‑the‑job training and essential experience gained on other jobs;
• Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations;
• Valid CDL Class A or B, no manual restrictions and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business;
• Smartphone experience required for using Electronic Logging Device;
• Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) required or must be able to obtain;
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers;
• Experience operating a vacuum truck;
• Working knowledge of operating equipment used in wet and dry vacuums;
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required.

What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience;
• Class A or B CDL License required, no manual restrictions, must have experience driving manual transmission trucks;
• HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements required;
• Must be available to work variable work schedules including nights, weekends and holidays;
• 10 % out of town travel required as needed.
