Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking a tire technician to mount, dismount, and repair class 8 tractor and trailer tires, while sorting casings by age and identifying recap tires. You will evaluate tire condition and ensure proper handling through precise procedures.

The role requires forklift operation with in-house training to obtain a license; you’ll load and unload tires onto storage trailers and vendor trucks.

Qualifications

• Experience handling class 8 tires preferred.
• Knowledge of class 8 tractor and trailer tire characteristics.
• Ability to obtain forklift license through inhouse licensing program and operate a forklift safely at all times.

Responsibilities

• Mount tires for tractors and trailers.
• Dismount take off tires as needed.
• Sort tires ready for recapping based on casing age.
• Ability to identify a recap tire.
• Ability to identify tire failure vs tire damage.
• Load and unload tires with forklift onto storage trailers.
• Load and unload tires with forklift onto vendor delivery truck.
