Job summary

The Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA), part of the Flint Institute of Music, invites applications for a Clarinet Instructor. You will teach and coach students across ages and levels, guiding technique, tone, and performance readiness in a collaborative Wind Department setting.

The position emphasizes engaging instruction, strong communication with families, and smooth lesson scheduling. A bachelor’s degree and teaching experience are preferred, with competitive hourly pay and flexible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music or related teaching field preferred.
• Experience teaching diverse styles of music preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and coaching for all ages from beginning through advanced levels.
• Guide students using a variety of teaching methods and materials.
• Ensure students are performance-ready and translate practice into public presentations.
• Establish rapport with students and families and manage lesson scheduling.
• Coordinate with office staff and adhere to FIM policies and procedures.
• Participate in community building and outreach efforts.
