Job summary

The Flint School of Performing Arts, under the Flint Institute of Music, seeks an Accordion Instructor to teach all ages from beginner to advanced levels. You will guide students using varied teaching methods, demonstrate during lessons, and ensure readiness for public performances.

You will maintain strong communication with families, manage scheduling logistics, and uphold FIM policies. The role emphasizes inclusivity, outreach, and professional interaction with students and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the field and related teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching diverse styles of music preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide students using a variety of teaching methods and materials that foster growth and creative exploration.
• Provide expert music instruction, including demonstration during lessons.
• Ensure students are performance-ready and understand the process of translating practice work into a public presentation.
• Establish a good rapport with students and families, encouraging open discussion.
