Job summary

Pratt is seeking a Clamp Truck Operator to safely operate and care for the clamp truck and to support corrugator production. The role requires reading lineups, marking rolls, handling rolls, and maintaining equipment and warehouse organization.

Preferred candidates will have corrugated industry exposure, experience with heavy equipment operation, and at least six months on the wet end of a corrugator. A current Lift Truck/Clamp Truck license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior corrugated industry experience preferred.
• Prior industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience.
• 6 months experience on the wet end of the corrugator.

Responsibilities

• Take rolls of paper to the corrugator, recording all rolls taken to the corrugator on proper forms.
• Learn to read corrugator lineups.
• Mark buttrolls with size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock.
• Unload rolls from trailers and/or rail cars; check for and note any damage.
• Operate the clamp truck safely.
• Complete clamp truck inspection and submit maintenance orders.
• Keep warehouse organized and clean.
• Turn in roll stock tallies to supervisor or Scheduling Department.
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating at available capacity and speed.
• Adhere to daily production schedule and provide optimization recommendations.
• Assist the corrugator operator as instructed.
• Make starch as needed per company formula.
• Check viscosities at corrugator and starch station.
• Record daily starch checklist.
• Maintain the wastewater treatment facility.
• Monitor inventory levels of starch and chemicals.
• Read MSDS and respond to chemical spills or skin contact.
• Assist in wet end training of other personnel.
• Comply with all policies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Management may assign additional duties.
