Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for handling and moving products within the facility, performing key tasks efficiently and safely.

How You Will Impact WestRock

1. Operate powered industrial forklifts and clamp forklifts safely and efficiently.
2. Perform all required forklift checklists.
3. Follow safety procedures and promote safety programs throughout the facility.
4. Support converting and in-line equipment to ensure a steady supply of WIP and packing supplies.
5. Remove completed products from converting equipment and transfer to storage areas.
6. Supply raw materials to the Corrugator and Forming machines.
7. Inspect products to ensure proper tagging and identification.
8. Scan finished products and place them in designated bins.
9. Transport products to staging areas.
10. Verify truck conditions and safety measures before loading.
11. Load scrap materials into bays or trucks.
12. Read, interpret, and understand product load tags.
13. Handle products carefully to minimize damage.
14. Inspect finished products to ensure quality packaging standards are met.
15. Complete all paperwork and system transactions accurately and timely.
16. Weigh and document daily scrap reports accurately.
17. Maintain compliance with GMPs.
18. Keep the workspace clean and organized according to plant guidelines.
19. Participate in and ensure compliance with YUM! /NFS audit regulations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of recent material handling experience with powered forklifts/CLAMP trucks in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and square footage calculations.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to perform data entry tasks.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
