Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve lower complexity and lower exposure claims.
- Manage a full claim workload with limited oversight and make sound decisions within delegated authority.
- Handle non‑litigated property damage liability with damages up to an estimated amount of $50,000.
- Handle litigated property damage liability with damages up to an estimated amount of $35,000.
- Handle minor non‑litigated bodily injury claims with anticipated value of $25,000 or less in all jurisdictions.
- Handle product liability matters and/or construction defect claims.
- Confirm coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims.
- Analyze coverage and communicate coverage positions.
- Draft coverage position letters.
- Identify losses that should be reported to SIU.
- Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigation into loss facts and extent of damages.
- Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of insured's exposure.
- Set reserves within authority or make recommendations concerning reserve changes to manager.
- Negotiate and settle claims within authority of up to $50,000.
- Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Participate in special projects or assist other team members as requested.
- Provide excellent and professional customer service to insureds while maintaining a high level of production.
- Serve as a mentor to entry‑level associates.
- Attend local mediations as necessary.

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job‑relevant education, job‑relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
