Job summary

National Interstate Insurance Company is seeking a Claims Operations Associate to join the team in Richfield, OH on a hybrid schedule. The role focuses on processing and organizing claim file information for basic to moderately complex claims across one or more lines.

You will work on improving efficiency, handle claims with coverage questions or recovery potential, and support day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred).
• Hours: 9-6 M-F.
• Experience: Typically 3+ years in claim operations or customer service.
• Scope: Knowledge of local, state, and federal insurance policies.
• Analytical and organizational abilities with prioritization.
• Working knowledge of claim data processing systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Processes and organizes claim file information for basic to moderately complex claims.
• Handles moderately complex claims including coverage questions or recovery potential.
• Identifies opportunities to streamline claims procedures, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.

To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday-Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.

Job Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred)

• Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in claim operations or customer service.
• Scope of Job/Qualifications: Develops knowledge of local, state, and federal insurance-related policies.
• Effective analytical and organizational abilities with a focus on prioritization.
• Working knowledge of claim data processing systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
