Job summary

WebTPA, a GuideWell Company, seeks an Assistant Manager of Claims Processing to lead a team of Claims Examiners in day-to-day operations of claims processing. You will act as SME, hire and onboard new staff, manage workloads, and ensure timely performance.

The role requires strong supervisory, analytical, and communication skills, with experience in processing medical claims and using MS Office and WebTPA systems. This position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a claims examiner or adjudication experience in healthcare.
• 1+ year of direct supervisory/management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or related equivalent work experience.
• Proven judgment, decision-making and analytical thinking.
• Ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience processing all types of medical claims.
• Proficiency with MS Office and WebTPA systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME and primary contact for all claims processing questions.
• Hire, onboard, and coordinate with Talent Development for new hires.
• Manage and review claims, backlogs, and daily prioritization to meet deadlines.
• Review metrics for quality and partner with Internal Audit.
• Coach employees; conduct 1:1s and performance appraisals.
• Reward and recognize team; uphold mission and values.
• Partner with HR on disciplinary matters and terminations.
• Timekeeping: review timecards and PTO requests.
