Claim Manager – TPA Workers’ Compensation Claims

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  1. Line leadership of Claim Specialists directing high-value Workers’ Compensation claims handled by third-party administrators (“TPAs”) filed throughout the United States for various underwriting teams.
  2. Approval of coverage letters or coordination of complex coverage referrals to Claim Legal and outside coverage counsel.
  3. Resolution of compliance-related issues with TPAs, Claim Management, and our Compliance Department.
  4. Direction of TPAs in accordance with AXA XL best practices in claim handling, including coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, recovery, and resolution, within AXA XL parameters.
  5. Delivery of excellent customer service to policyholders and brokers, ensuring high standards are upheld internally and by TPAs.
  6. Collaboration with internal claim resources and external partners to ensure optimal outcomes and mitigate claim expenses.
  7. Coordination with Claim Account Management to communicate claim issues, support audits, and collaborate on performance and technical issues.
  8. Presentation of claim results, trends, and lessons learned to stakeholders, including actuaries, auditors, brokers, reinsurers, and underwriters.
  9. Recommending additional metrics to support team and departmental goals.

You will report directly to the Head of Primary Casualty Claims.

  • Advanced skills in investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of high-value/complex Workers’ Compensation Claims.
  • Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving coverage and compliance issues.
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience within the U.S.
  • Significant experience managing claims in an unbundled insurance model.
  • Leadership skills, including influencing internal and external relationships, coaching, setting expectations, evaluating, and accountability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ownership of continuous process improvements to maximize claim outcomes.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.

The U.S. pay range for this position is $130,000-$227,500 USD, determined by skills, experience, and location.
